This policy explains what information 500-0.com ("500/0", "the game") collects, why, and what your choices are. 500/0 is an independent game run by a single developer. It is free to play and does not require an account.
You do not need to give us your name, email address, or any account details to play. The game stores a small amount of information in your own browser so it can remember your handle and your progress. If you submit a score to the leaderboard, that score and the handle you chose are stored on our server. We use a basic analytics service to count visits, and we use Google AdSense to serve advertising, which uses cookies.
The game uses your browser's local storage to keep things working between visits. This data stays on your device. It is not an account and we cannot read it unless you send it to us by submitting a score. It includes:
You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for 500-0.com. Doing so will also remove your saved progress, and it cannot be recovered. Some browsers, including Safari on iOS, may clear this data automatically if you have not visited the site for a period of time.
If you complete a successful chase and choose to claim a place on the leaderboard, the following is sent to and stored on our server: your chosen handle, your randomly generated player ID, the result of the match, and the eleven players you drafted. This is used to display and rank the leaderboard and to verify that submitted results are genuine.
Handles are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Please do not use your real name or any personal information as a handle. If you would like an entry removed, email us at the address below.
We record basic, aggregated usage information so we can understand how many people are playing and which pages are used. This covers things such as page visits, approximate referring source (for example, whether you arrived from a social media link), and general engagement patterns. This is handled by our own analytics service running on Cloudflare Workers. It is used in aggregate to improve the game and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
We use Google AdSense to display advertising on this site. Advertising helps keep 500/0 free to play.
Where required by law, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other applicable regions will be shown a consent notice before personalised advertising cookies are used, and can decline personalised advertising.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and the leaderboard and analytics run on Cloudflare Workers. As part of delivering the site, our hosting provider processes standard technical information such as IP addresses and browser type. IP addresses are also used briefly to apply rate limits that protect the leaderboard from automated abuse. We do not store IP addresses alongside your leaderboard entries.
500/0 is a general audience cricket game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
